Day 75 Hermiston, OR

Hey fam!

I have a bunch of random things to tell you about this week. So here goes.

- Last week we had nothing to do on a weekday, so we decided to go tracting.....at a Hutterite colony. :) It's a colony of about 60 people...and they're like the Amish except they use modern technology and electricity and stuffs. But they wear the long dresses and shawls and only stay in their colony out there in the middle of nowhere. So we showed up and met a couple ladies there and they gave us a tour of the colony! We handed out a few book of mormons and stuffs and it was a pretty cool experience!

- We drove out to where part of the Oregon Trail is...and the wagon ruts are still there after all this time. Pictures shall be attached

- The Jensens are on date for March 30th!!! We are so excited for them. PRAY.

- This week was Sister Hovorka's year mark, so some members in the ward who are buying a restaurant offered to buy us breakfast there that morning...so that was super nice. Giant breakfasts are bomb.

- I tried oysters for the first time at one of our investigators' house..and I hated them. It's like swallowing a giant warm loogie. Barf. (Ha reminded me of Mr Bean)

- We had sisters conference this week! Which means all the sisters in the mission get together and we have training all day from Pres/Sister Greer and the AP's. It was really good and it was SO great to see my girls from the MTC again!!

- So we were trying to find this girl who is a recent convert and her family aren't members..and we walk up to the door and knock...and all of a sudden we hear this booming bark. We look over, and around the corner of the house comes this dog that I swear was the size of a small horse. I'm pretty sure it was the dog from Sandlot. Boy, you should've seen how fast my comp and I jumped back over that gate. hahaha talk about an adrenaline rush

- One of our new investigators is a Jehovah's Witness...so that should be interesting. She seemed WAY nice though. We're going back to see her next week.

That's all folks!! Thanks for all the mail and all the love!!

Sister Smaisley Smith
(say THAT 10 times fast)
