halloooo!
Things are finally getting back to normal around here! Life was crazy with transfers for a while. But now we're back into a good rhythm.
OKay so to answer questions:
Chris is a 24 year old dude that we found...he actually moved in with some of our other investigators and he wanted us to teach him as well. He isn't married but has a 2 yr old son who lives in Hermiston with his mom. Anywho, he's on date but doesn't have a testimony yet so we'll see what happens. It's pretty frustrating.
The Jensens are doing great! We're teaching them the new member lessons (which are basically the missionary lessons over again) so we see them on a regular basis still. haha the other day we were talking with them and they were making fun of me and i said "hey, you better watch it. i brought you into this church and i'll take you out!" bahaha the parents were dying and gave me high fives for using a Bill Cosby reference. Good stuff.
We only cover one ward here, some missionaries do cover 2 or 3 wards but since there are so many coming out the areas are getting smaller and smaller.
Training is going well! It's still nerve-wracking since I really have no idea what I'm doing...but we get to learn together and Sister Harris is a really good sport about working hard and trying new things which really helps. She is awesome! We clicked right away and we have a good dynamic. Super happy.
Umm what else...oh we got stalked around Safeway the other day by some dude selling newspapers...he followed us around the entire store and then cornered us by the donuts and started asking us all sorts of questions...and then followed us to the register and waited for us to leave. What a weirdy.
We got to have a specialized training on Saturday with Pres Greer and the AP's. It was all about the importance of attending church...something cool I learned is that sacrament meeting is where people come to LIVE the Doctrine of Christ. (faith, repentance, baptism, holy ghost, and enduring to the end). All five of those things are incorporated when we take the sacrament. And we get to do that every week! I had never really grasped the importance of the sacrament and coming to church until being on my mission.
I really do love the mission so far. I've learned so much and my thinking has undergone a total paradigm shift. Things really fall into perspective out here.
