Day 160 Hermiston, OR - New Mission Boundaries

Hallooooo!

Lots of things this week again!! I'll have to be quick:

- We found some awesome new gators this week!! One is named Rosa, she's from El Salvador. And the first time we met her, we sat and talked for a little while and then she offered to make us pupusas. OH MY GOODNESS THEY WERE SO GOOD. And she told us before one of us gets switched out she'll make us tamales. SCORE. We also got to teach Sheila again yesterday, and it went so great!! She is such an awesome lady...her family life is kinda crazy so she's looking for peace in her life...she told us she'd read the book of mormon and pray about it and come to church on sunday. whoop whoop!! she's great.

-FUNNY STORY: so we went to McDonalds this week to get some ice cream while our car was getting worked on...while we were sitting there, up comes this scrummy punk 16 year old kid. He plops down on the seat next to us and tells us that he came over cause he saw we had "jesus tags" and that we were "cute". we say "thanks...so, do you go to a church around here?" hahaha his other friend comes over and sits down, and they start asking us questions like why we can't play video games and what we do and stuff...so we tell them we teach people about our beliefs. his friend asks if we're the ones that don't believe in heaven, and we then proceed to teach them both the ENTIRE PLAN OF SALVATION, right there in Mickey D's. Complete with diagrams. WHAT UP. hahaha we laughed so hard about it. that'll teach em to try to hit on girls 5 years older than them.

-Shout out to the Thompsons for buying me and my comp SWEET Oregon Ducks shirts...you guys rock. We love them.

-Second funny story: The other night we were at the Baros' house for dinner...and we played that game where you pick a song on an ipod, blast the headphones to the point where you can't hear yourself sing, and then sing along at the top of your lungs. So we had a blast...and at the end we plugged all 4 headphones in to the same ipod and me, Sis H, and 2 of the Baros boys all jammed out. We have it on video. SO the next day, Brother Baros is giving a talk in sacrament meeting, and he starts talking about how he was in his room preparing his talk and he heard "angelic voices coming from the living room". We all looked at each other and BUSTED up. My face hasn't been that red in a LONG time. hahaha getting called out in sacrament meeting is the best. Our ward loves us. Nbd.

-There are a bunch of mint fields out here, so everything is starting to smell like mint. It's awesome.

- The other day Sister Harris and I found out something super interesting: we talk to each other in our sleep. hahaha I woke up as I was saying something like "have you read this book?" and I hear Sis H go "I've only read about 20 pages"...and then she woke up and asked why the crap we were talking about this at 2 in the morning...and I said "I don't know. Don't judge." and rolled over and went back to sleep. hahaha good stuff.

Anywho. Life is great. Transfer calls are on Saturday. I forwarded you guys the email with the new WKM mission maps, so take a look at those.

LOVE YOU!!

Ash
