Day 153 Hermiston, OR wuz good

Hola familia!!

I got goosebumps when I read about the procession for bringing Cody's body back home. That's SO awesome. He was a really great guy...everybody loved him. The Salcido's live with the Towse's (Camilla's family) so she was telling me how the whole community has done a really good job of supporting them and being there to help.

Anywho. The transfer is already halfway over! It's going by WAY too fast. The work is really starting to pick up again and I feel like I could serve my whole mission in this area and be happy with it. We found another lady named Sheila on Sunday who seems really interested and is pretty lost as far as religion goes .She said she has tried out a lot of different churches, but they never seem to keep their standards high enough and kind of just adapt to whatever is new and cool in the world. She is really frustrated because she doesn't think God would accept that. We are super excited to start teaching her and tell her how God's church never changes. His ways are absolute truths and don't change with popular opinion. We were reading L Tom Perry's conference talk this week for a companionship study, and it was about this very thing. Sin will always be sin and His laws do not change. I think this is something that is really unique about our church. You never have to worry about it changing with the tides or falling apart with the first opposition that comes our way. It is always constant and steadfast. It actually has increased my faith this week in knowing that our Heavenly Father is the one behind our church, not just mortal minds and theories. This really is Christ's church and it isn't going anywhere. Isn't that a relief?

We had a Doctrine of Christ training on Thursday in Kennewick...and it was great as usual. Sam Metz and Kai Schulze were both there so we got a picture of the Payson peeps :) REPRESENT!!

Holy poop in a bucket, Amanda leaves in 2 days. Give her a giant bear hug for me, tell her to avoid the "adversity" in the MTC, and take lots of pictures!! YOU'LL BE GREAT MANDA!! Go get em :)

Anywho. Out of time. Love you guys!!

Ashley
