Day 374 Othello, Wa. 525,600 minutes

Well....I've been out a year. Officially. Holy crap. That's terrifying stuff right there. (haha my mission president was talking to me the day before and he sang happy birthday to me on the phone. He's the coolest.)

First off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMANDA!!!!!!!!!! The big two zero!! Yer so old!

Anywho. This week was pretty good! Not QUITE as eventful as last week, but still :)

Cool story: we found this lady named Monica on Tuesday, and she told us she only had 5 minutes to talk with us. We asked if we could quickly read a couple paragraphs from the Book of Mormon introduction page with her, and she agreed. We read the very first paragraph, and she stopped us and said, "wait, what does that mean?" So we explained to her how the Bible is the record of the people in Jerusalem, the BoM is the record of the people in the Americas, how they both testify of Christ, etc...the whole deal. She got SUPER excited and was like "this is what I've been wondering my whole life!! I've always wanted to know about if there were other people in the other parts of the world who knew about Jesus! I have chills!!!" She was so happy. :) It's the first time I've ever had someone react like that...to get the importance of our message right off the bat. It really strengthened my testimony. We ended up reading the whole introduction with her, and had an hour lesson with her...and she did most of the talking and asking questions. (Remember, she said she only had "five minutes".) She committed to read and pray about the Book of Mormon, and then asked for a second one so she could teach her 14 year old daughter about it. It was so cool!!!

Funny story: There's this girl in the stake named Keave who is going on her mission at the end of this month, so she comes out with us a few times a week and drives us around and stuff. So last night we were contacting some less active members from the ward list. We go to this one house (which happens to be on Drury Lane) and...well...let me set the scene first. It's pitch black outside. Four ugly chihuahuas come running out, and we hear this super loud chill guitar music coming from the house. Like the kind people get high to. Kay? So we knock on the door, and this dude with a purple tie and girly scarf answered. Said his name was Javier. Then this other dude pushes his way to the door, (looked like he had been punched in the face a few times) and said his name was Rigo and that we had found him. He told us he had left the Mormon church a few years ago because of some "doctrinal issues" and stuffs. Ha we asked them if they were related...they looked at each other for a sec, and then were like "...yeah. We're brothers." FAT LIE. Anywho, so we awkwardly talk with them for a few minutes, and then all of a sudden Rigo looks at Keave and goes, "There's something special about that one. I don't know what it is, but there's something about her." She was just like....ummmmmmmmmmmmmmk.

So we did our very best not to vomit on his porch as we speed walked back to the car and busted up laughing. Welcome to missionary work, Keave. hahaha. oh man. So many creepers. Gotta love it.

Kay well that's all I really have to say this week. Sounds like you guys had a blast with the holidays this year! I'm so proud :) haha we sat in our apartment and watched Prophet of the Restoration and drank Martinelli's out of our Duck Dynasty cups. That's class, right there! :)

Love you all!!
