Day 451 Othello, Wa. d-e-s-s-e-r-t-s

Hello my dears!!

I have mostly just stories to tell you this week. Here goes.

-Sharlene got baptized this weekend!! Her mom came and everything! We were so excited. Afterwards I asked her how she felt...and she just said " REALLY good. I feel really warm on the inside." :) Gah. Makes everything worth it. She is so sweet and just soaks up everything. See the picture.

- So we had this awesome lesson with our investigator Marcelino. He's like the coolest kid ever. So prepared. He's come to church twice now. He told us this story of how he was walking home from school a few weeks ago, and he saw this little card on the street with a picture of Jesus and a couple kids. He picked it up, and thought maybe it could be a sign that he needed to start going to church and having God in his life again. And then that Sunday he came to our church, and when the bishop invited him into his office to say hi and get to know him...he saw a stack of the same cards on the bishop's desk. It was the article of faith cards!! He said he knew he was on the right path and that God was aware of him. How cool is that?!? That's pretty cool.

- We had another lesson with Lazet this week. She and Julio are still reading the Book of Mormon..we asked them if they were still praying, and she said "yeah, we pray together every night." We were like cool!! and asked them if that's something they've always done. She said no, it was only since we started coming over. We didn't even have to teach them about it, and they are already doing family prayer!!! I was so happy.

- Funny story from this week: So there is this elder out here who is super over the top about everything...and he's training a brand new missionary this transfer. So last P day they show up towards the end of the day and walk in. They're still wearing their proselyting clothes, and everyone in our zone is just chillin doing P day stuff. They walk in, and the trainee looks at us and goes, "Why are you all in normal clothes?" We look at each other, and our zone leader says, "Um, It's P day Elder...". The trainee looks at us and was like "Seriously?? Elder ____ told me I had to be in this all day!!" hahaha poor guy. The sad thing is that his trainer wasn't joking. We just had a good laugh about it.

Okay well I'm outta time. Things are good. Othello is bomb diggity.  You guys are the best.

Don't forget that this coming Monday I won't be emailing you since we are going to the temple next week ...you'll have to wait until Wednesday! :)

Ashley
